Electropolished - This process involves the stainless steel fittings being placed in a bath of chemicals and having a high electrical current run through it. The process peels back the outer layer of the stainless steel increasing the proportion of chromium on the surface. This type of finish results in a smoother, shinier and brighter surface, as well as enhancing the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel.

The preferred grades of stainless steel for industrial use are titled 304 and 316 due to their excellent corrosion resistance, suitable finish and versatility.

304 Grade Stainless Steel: Is the most commonly produced grade of stainless steel. It is general-purpose stainless steel and offers good corrosion resistance.

316 Grade Stainless Steel: Also known as "Marine Grade" as it contains Molybdenum to resist the corrosive affects of NaCI or salt in seawater. 316 Stainless Steel offers better corrosion than 304 Stainless Steel for those projects in coastal locations. Although it is not completely rustproof the alloy is more corrosion resistant than other common stainless steels.
